Biogas Bree on their e-document start-up: “After one week, you are completely up to speed”

16/02/2026

In 2023, Biogas Bree digitized their transport documents with Pionira. Since then, the company has become part of Engie, but their vision on digitization has always remained the same: it makes administration simpler, more efficient, and more manageable.

Ease of use above all

In their search for a digitization partner in 2023, they looked at various solutions. “Ultimately, we chose the user-friendliness of eWastra. It is simply easy to work with,” explains Michel Schelfhout, then Managing Director at Biogas Bree.

A large number of their suppliers were also already familiar with eWastra. “For many of them, the system was no stranger. That made the choice even more logical.”

From doubt to confidence

As with any new tool, there was some doubt at the beginning. “I was a bit apprehensive at the start,” Michel admits honestly. “But in hindsight, that was completely unnecessary.”

Today, Tim, his right-hand, works with it daily. “After a week, you are completely up to speed. Thanks to the digital training, there is little you have to figure out yourself, and support is always available.”

This smooth start ensured that Biogas Bree now uses not only the digital identification form but also the eCMR.
“When I hear that other documents are available digitally, I no longer hesitate to switch.”

Less administration, more efficiency

The biggest gain? Time. “Because of digitization, we have significantly less work: no more copying, archiving… That makes a huge difference.” Some carriers still work with paper, but for Biogas Bree, digital has become the standard. “It’s like sending a letter or an email. Which is faster? That’s how we see it too.
